At VELUX, we believe it's our mission to provide you with everything you need when it comes to skylights - that includes inspiration for incorporating innovative daylighting in your residential designs.
VELUX's case studies are a great way to see how skylights have worked out in projects similar to the ones you take on. Whether you're working on replacements or cutting holes for brand new skylights, there's a case study to help with almost any project you come across. And today, we're heading to Hudson, Massachusetts for the Deer Path Farms residential case study.
Living Connected with Nature
Meet Jerry Sarno, the architect, builder, and developer behind the New England condominium community, Deer Path Farms. Sarno designed each condo with his future residents' specific needs in mind, which meant he needed to find a way to incorporate natural light throughout each space. Enter VELUX skylights. With skylights, Sarno is able to emphasize his use of natural light and provide a connection with the outside world that changes with the seasons. And his use of a cardboard model for each condo helps future residents see just how drastically natural light can illuminate a space compared to artificial light.
Check out this video to learn more about Sarno's custom-designed condominiums and how they - and his residents - benefit from natural light through skylights:
