The Benefits of Skylight Blinds
Adding blinds to skylight orders not only gives your bottom line a boost, it also provides your consumers with a few added skylight benefits:
- Drama: VELUX Skylights help dramatize any room in a home. Play up that drama even more with a brightly colored blind!
- Privacy: You already know a skylight offers more privacy than a window, but a skylight with a blind offers more privacy than one without.
- Energy Efficiency: Adding blinds can increase the skylight's overall energy efficiency by 45%.
- Light Control: When you add blinds, you put more light control in the hands of your consumers. Blinds can also help control the temperature of a room with skylights and keep them from overheating in the sun.
In-Stock vs. Special Order
You may have noticed when we were listing the skylight blind types that certain colors were available in-stock while others are available as a special order. Our in-stock blinds are factory-installed on the skylight so there's no extra installing to do once you're on site. Our in-stock blinds are comprised of our most popular styles and colors so your consumers are less likely to wait for them to come in.
Special order skylight blinds, however, are not pre-installed with a skylight order and require a two-week lead time. These ship separately and you can make the trip back to install them yourself or they can be installed by your customers. VELUX blinds are fitted with pre-installed brackets, so they just pop into place to achieve a perfect fit every time.
