Welcome to part 4 of 4 (for now) of our skylight parts series! Today we're talking about the VELUX Fixed Skylight.

About the Skylight

The VELUX Fixed Skylight allows you to have natural light in areas of your home you'd never thought possible! Whether your space is set up as a work area, game room, man cave, or an art studio, you can add natural light and a sky view with fixed skylights.

The Different Parts of Your Skylight

Time to take on the different parts of your Fixed Skylight, which looks like this:

Now, here's what those numbers mean:

  1. Clean, Quiet & Safe Glass: The VELUX Fixed Skylight comes standard with our Clean, Quiet & Safe Glass. Made with Neat® glass, a silicon dioxide coating makes it exceptionally smooth so water sheets off and evaporates quickly, greatly reducing water spotting. Since this glass is thicker than other glass types, it also reduces unwanted noise by up to 25% less than standard double pane glass and up to 50% less than a plastic skylight.
  2. Daylight: Fixed skylights offer a great opportunity to incorporate more daylight and sky views into your home. They're also compatible with VELUX blinds so you can control the amount of daylight coming in at any time.
  3. Skylight Frame & Flashing: Our Fixed Skylights qualify for our No Leak Warranty, thanks to their frame and VELUX flashing. The warranty offers 10 years of protection on installation, plus 20 years on glass, 10 years on product, and 5 years on blinds.
